The day the waiting breaks open.
Hey Sacred Place Family,
Last week I talked about being in a season of waiting—a lot of not-there-yet—a time with little clarity about when the clarity arrives. We have been anticipating Pentecost since we started our journey through Acts and beyond. It’s the day the waiting breaks open. The disciples have been holding their breath in a closed room with no instructions, and then the wind arrives anyway. It always seems to.
This Sunday is one of the great ones. It’s Pentecost—the birthday of the church—and it’s communion, and we are going all in. Wear red, orange, or gold if you’ve got it. Come ready to be in a room that the Spirit started.
And here’s a thing worth saying out loud: Sacred Place itself began on a Pentecost, seven years ago. We are, in our own small way, a thing the wind started. So this Sunday is a homecoming of sorts before next week’s birthday party. Come find out what the wind is up to now.

Seven years of showing up, figuring it out, and becoming something together. We want everyone who has ever called this place home in the room—and there will be cupcakes.

Our summer Pride series launches. I’ll be out June 7 & 14, but you’re in very good hands: Bryan is back to lead the gathering both weeks while I’m away.
Week two with Bryan, as we keep settling into Ruth and the strange, holy ways God builds family out of people the world counted out.
See you Sunday! Pastor Matthew
Let’s start a conversation.
