Today at Sacred Place: Not What I Want

Good morning, friends.

I’m trying something different this week. A short Sunday morning note instead of the usual Friday letter, on the theory that it might be more useful sitting at the top of your inbox on the day itself. Let me know if you like it better.

We’re in the garden this morning. Mark 14, Gethsemane, the last night of his life. Jesus asks God for another way, and he asks his three closest friends for something much smaller: stay here, stay awake.

It’s week six of Hold On, and this time the one doing the arguing is Jesus.
