Today at Sacred Place: More Merciful Than We’d Like

Today at Sacred Place: More Merciful Than We’d Like

Jonah, and the last Sunday of Hold On. In person at 11, or watch from wherever you are.

Good morning, friends.

It’s Labor Day weekend, and some of you are traveling, or with family, or just not making it out the door today. The stream will be running, and you can join us live from wherever you are. It’s the same gathering either way.

We finish Hold On this morning, and we finish it with Jonah. Nineveh repents. God relents. And Jonah, the prophet whose sermon saved the city, walks out to a hill to sulk about it. The book ends on a question God asks him and never answers.

Seven weeks ago we opened with Moses talking God out of destruction. This morning the argument runs the other direction.

We’ll be at the Table this morning, which is a good way to close a series about staying in the argument.

If you’re here in person, coffee is on at 10:30. If you’re watching, the stream goes live at 11:00.
