Week two of Hold On: the slow work of trust after a rupture. We gather Sunday at 11:00 AM Pacific, in person or online.
Hey Sacred Place Family,
When someone hurts our feelings, even a little, we stay on edge for a while afterward. The apology lands, things are technically fine, and still something in us keeps its coat on, watching the door. Trust doesn’t come back on the same schedule the peace treaty does.
That’s about where we find Moses this week. It’s the morning after the golden calf. The worst of it is over, the people have been spared, and now comes the harder, quieter question underneath the crisis: are we actually okay, or are we just not in trouble anymore? He isn’t sure whether he’s forgiven or merely tolerated, and instead of pretending he doesn’t need to know, he keeps asking. Week two of Hold On sits right there, in the aftermath, with the God who chooses to stay in it with us.
However you arrive this week, still guarded or ready to trust again, close to God or watching the door, there’s room for you here.
We gather Sunday at 11:00 AM Pacific, in person or online. Coffee, tea, and refreshments beforehand. Bring someone who’s holding on to something right now.
Grace and peace, Pastor Matthew
