Mission Sunday, and I’m leading this one

Hey Sacred Place Family,

Here’s something I’ve noticed about walking into a room you haven’t been in before. You spend the first while working out what you’re supposed to already know. Nobody’s being unwelcoming. There’s just a pile of work happening that nobody can see.

This Sunday we’re going looking for that work in our own building.

It’s Mission Sunday, so there’s no sermon—once a month the room belongs to the whole congregation. Most months somebody else leads it. This month it’s me, and then the room is yours.

We’ll start with Joseph, who goes down to Egypt with nothing and rises so far inside it that his own brothers stand right in front of him and don’t know his face. Then we’ll walk our own halls and ask what makes it harder for some people to get in, to get around, or to feel like they belong here.

No livestream this week. And honestly, this one only works if you’re in the room.

Coffee is on at 10:30, and we gather at 11:00 AM.
