Church in Rancho Cucamonga

Sacred Place United Church of Christ

A Church That Actually Means It

If you’re looking for a church in Rancho Cucamonga, you have options. There’s no shortage of congregations in the Inland Empire. But if you’re looking for a church that takes inclusion seriously—not as a marketing line, but as a way of life—Sacred Place United Church of Christ might be the community you’ve been searching for.

We gather every Sunday at 11 AM at our Mission Center, located at 10289 25th St, Rancho Cucamonga, CA 91730. Doors open at 10:30 for coffee and conversation before worship begins. There’s no dress code. Kids are welcome and expected to be kids. You don’t have to know the songs, the prayers, or the “rules.” There aren’t many.

Sacred Place is a congregation of the United Church of Christ, a mainline Protestant denomination known for its commitment to justice, inclusion, and the ongoing work of God in the world. Our denomination’s motto is “God is still speaking,” and we take that seriously. We don’t claim to have all the answers. We do claim to be a community willing to keep asking the questions.

What Makes Us Different

Sacred Place is a progressive, Open & Affirming church. That means we have made a public, formal commitment to the full inclusion of LGBTQIA+ people in every aspect of church life—leadership, worship, sacraments, everything. Our pastor is gay. Our community includes queer families, neurodivergent kids, people healing from religious trauma, and folks who never thought they’d set foot in a church again.

We read Scripture seriously and contextually, as literature written by real people in real circumstances, not as a rulebook to be wielded. We use gender-inclusive language for God. We believe the gospel is fundamentally about liberation—not control.

We are a small church, and we don’t pretend otherwise. We believe small churches can do real, meaningful things. We show up every week, we care for each other, and we try to make the Inland Empire a more just place—one gathering at a time.

What to Expect When You Visit

Sunday mornings at Sacred Place are reflective, grounded, and real. Worship lasts about an hour and includes music, prayer, Scripture, and a message rooted in the life and teachings of Jesus—applied to the world we actually live in. We celebrate communion regularly and welcome everyone to the table, no exceptions.

Our space is sensory-friendly. Movement is welcome. Online participation is valued equally to in-person attendance—we livestream most Sundays at live.yoursacredplace.org. Whether you’re joining from our building or from your couch, you belong here.

We’re located in Rancho Cucamonga, just south of the 210 freeway, and we serve families and individuals from across the Inland Empire—including Upland, Ontario, Fontana, Claremont, Rialto, and throughout San Bernardino County.
