Listen to Grace

Friday, March 21, 2025

Hey Sacred Place Family,

Even though I’m away this week, I wanted to take a moment to say how grateful I am for this community. As we continue journeying through Lent, I hope you’re finding moments of reflection, connection, and grace. This Sunday is Mission Sunday, a time to focus on inclusion and the ways we live out God’s love in tangible ways.

I’ll be holding you all in my thoughts this Sunday from afar and look forward to seeing you soon.

With love,

Pastor Matthe

Listen to the Warning

As we continue our Lenten journey, Jesus calls us not just to listen, but to heed his words—even when they challenge us. This Sunday, we hear a warning, not meant to instill fear, but to awaken us to transformation.

In Luke 13:1-9, 31-35, Jesus pushes against the assumption that suffering is punishment for sin. Instead, he calls us to examine our own lives, our own fruit. The parable of the fig tree reminds us that while God is patient, time is not unlimited. We are called to bear fruit, not ju

Listen to Love

As we continue our Lenten journey, I want to personally invite you to join us this Sunday as we reflect on what it means to listen to love. Through the parable of the Samaritan who showed mercy and the moment when Jesus invites Martha to be present, we are challenged to consider: Who is our neighbor? Where should we be focused?

Lent is often framed as a season of restriction, but here at Sacred Place, we are reclaiming it as a season of return—a time to listen more deeply, to center ourselves i

An Invitation to Hope

Ash Wednesday invites us into a season of reflection, repentance, and renewal. The ashes we receive are not marks of shame, but signs of hope—reminders of our shared humanity and God’s grace. Tonight, we reclaim this sacred practice, stepping into Lent with humility, courage, and expectation

Community Building

Good Morning, Sacred Place!

Join us tomorrow at the Mission Center at 11:00 AM It’s Mission Sunday, and we’ll be combining our usual Bible study format with a discussion about the plans we’re making for 2025. There’s really nothing new for me to add to the calendar just yet, but I’m working on some outreach ideas that we’ll be talking about.

The annual meeting went well last week, and there were a few i

It’s Annual Meeting Time!

Join us this Sunday @ 11 AM

That’s right, this Sunday at 11 AM, we gather for an abbreviated worship service, followed by our Annual Meeting—a time to reflect on where we’ve been, where we’re headed, and how we’re called to live out our mission together.

We’ll be sharing updates on our financial vision, discussing exciting next steps for 2025, and exploring how Sacred Place continues to be a space where justice matters, inclusion is real, and community is built together.

Sacred Place is a young church based in Rancho Cucamonga. We first gathered in June of 2019 at Jasper Elementary in Alta Loma.
