Matthew is a storyteller, husband, dad, geek, technology enthusiast, and Disney aficionado. Matthew believes that everyone should have a sacred place where they can be who they are. As a church planter, he knows it takes intentional work to include those who have been excluded—especially by the Church. A native of Texas, his favorite foods include chili con queso and Dr Pepper. Matthew holds a Master of Divinity from Fuller Theological Seminary with a special focus on Worship, Theology, and the Arts as well as a Bachelor of Science in Radio-TV-Film from the University of Texas at Austin. He and his husband, Chris, live in Rancho with their five-year-old son. They are doggo parents to Elsie the Goldendoodle. Matthew is an avid reader of fiction—64 books last year, and a regular watcher of television whose current favorites include Superman & Lois, The Great British Bake Off, and Star Trek: Discovery, & Star Trek: Picard.
